The Weekly Address #03

Sushi, Street Art, and Satire

Greetings, fellow good people. Hope you’re swell. You’ll likely already know what you’re reading by now, but if you’re new, this is our weekly inspiration piece. Yes, it’s just like it sounds, quick bits of creative work to inspire your great ideas. Dive in.

Today we’re starting with bonkers but brilliant Japanese advertising. From what we’ve been able to translate (thanks Alice), this Sushi takeaway isn’t just good, it’s miraculous; it will bring your runaway kids back home, tame your wild boss, make you laugh more, sleep better etc. Not entirely sure what our key take-out is ;) we just love it, check it out:

If you live, well, anywhere, you’ll know that a lot of the time, graffiti’s an eyesore. Not when it’s by the Portuguese street artist ‘Vile’, he sprays eye-catching optical illusions. Standing out AND blending in, what a guy.

Speaking of environments, we should really stop destroying ours. These creative geniuses aren’t simply weaving climate change into everyday discussions, no, they’re weaving climate change records into everyday accessories. Way to make it tangible.

Lastly, If you haven’t already, feast your eyes on Steve Cutts’ latest animation ‘Turning Point’. It’s also about climate change, but from an unexpected satirical perspective. Truly thought-provoking work.

Now both Pancake and Leap Day don’t come around too often, so go enjoy your last week of February and we’ll see you next time.
