The Weekly Address #14

Scores, Swords, and Superheroes

It’s that time of the week again. In this address we’ve got lonely goalies, cinematic martial arts, comedic wildlife and Stormzy news. Let’s jump right in.

First up, the legendary Arsenal goalkeeper Bob Wilson reflects on the lonely life between the goalposts. Whether you’re a football fan or not, you’ll love this animation’s beautiful storytelling.

This next one’s no ordinary music video. For her song ‘Sad Day’, the talented singer-songwriter-swordswoman FKA twigs teamed up with director Hiro Murai to create a martial arts inspired masterpiece. The main song’s hardly even the focus and it’s still captivating.

Popular grime artist Stormzy also has a new music video out. ‘Superheroes’ is certainly creative, but what’s even more inspiring is the process its director Taz Tron Delix went through to realise his vision. Check it out.

Last but not least, some hilarious animals. The Comedy Wildlife Photo Awards has released its 44 finalist images for 2020. All the them show a remarkable and humanised side to the subjects. Here’s one smiling fish, go see the rest right here.
