The Weekly Address #18

Food, Flights, and Furniture

It’s finally here, one of the weeks we’ve all been waiting for. High streets are alive with the smells of alfresco dining and beer once again, and our evening reunions now complement the days we’re busy making work. To add to the amazingness of this week, here’s a few fun things we know you’ll enjoy.

The first one’s a pretty neat idea from a pretty neat brand. With all the problems currently going on in the world, it’s been relatively easy to forget just how much of an impact food waste has. Step in, Ikea, with their new ‘Scrapsbook’ – a cookbook featuring 50 free recipes crafted with leftover kitchen scraps. Pretty nifty huh, well done.

Ahh the open brief, they rarely happen but we all love ‘em. This next bit of creativity is what happened when a talented director was handed products from Italian furniture company ‘Plank’ and asked to make something fun for an ad. It’s simple, memorable and so satisfying to watch.

Speaking of household items, has it ever occurred to you that the necessary-but-unaesthetic ones we have, dislike not being the items we show off? No? Neither did we, until we saw this film. Let’s just say we’re certainly not overlooking any of the things we own anymore.

Lastly, while being able to go to the gym and see loved ones in hospitality settings is fantastic, what we all really need now is a remarkable virus-free holiday. Since we can’t physically leave the country though, immerse yourself in these stunning visuals of Istanbul Turkey for a little mind vacation, no flights needed.

That’s all we’ve got for this weekly address. We’re so glad you could join us for another one. Now get to work (or the pub, wherever you’re meant to be) and until next time, stay safe.
